According to a study in JAMA Pediatrics, babies that are breastfed have a higher IQ than those who are not. Harvard researchers asked 1,300 new moms about their breastfeeding habits. Years later, they administered IQ tests to the children at the ages of 3 and 7.
Children who breastfed for longer had better language skills at 3 and better verbal and non-verbal IQ at 7. The research suggests moms who breastfeed for a year can boost their kids' IQ by four points.
