Max Allender and his twin sister Coral were born at Evanston Hospital three months early in the spring of 2012.
Max wasn't able to go home until last month. Friday, his mother took the children to Bixler Playlot in Hyde Park.
Jessi Allender said as she took her son to the park "the hope has paid off."
