Nayak, who was seen running from federal court on Friday, admitted to paying physicians bribes and kickbacks if they sent patients to his surgical centers in Chicago. He also admitted to tax fraud.
Nayak was a prominent figure in the Blagojevich scandal. Federal authorities once claimed he was the one who offered to raise millions of dollars for Blagojevich in exchange for appointing Jesse Jackson Jr. to the Senate seat.
Neither Nayak nor Jackson was ever charged in the Blagojevich case.
