Loyola Red Line stop renovation unveiled

A $17 million renovation on the Red Line Loyola stop was officially unveiled Friday.

The work included station and track upgrades, a reconfigured pedestrian crossing and a new open air plaza.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined Senator Dick Durbin, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and others for the unveiling.

The work at the Loyola stop is part of the CTA's $1 billion effort to modernize and expand the Red Line.
