One Direction coming to Chicago: 1D 'Where We Are' tour to hit Soldier Field

One Direction won two awards at the 2013 American Music Awards Sunday, including Best Pop/Rock Album and Best Pop/Rock Group. This week, the group released their third studio album "Midnight Memories."

The 21-city tour kicks off August 1, 2014 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at Rogers Centre and includes stops in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Dallas and Miami, amongst others. Additional dates will be announced.

Tickets go on sale on December 7 at www.livenation.com.

"We simply can't wait to be back in North America touring and to see our fans," says Niall Horan. "It's going to be absolutely huge!"

One Direction is due to perform on NBC's "SNL" on December 7 as well. It will be their second appearance on the show.

One Direction - Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - formed in 2010. With two albums to date, "Up All Night" and "Take Me Home," the boys have sold more than 35 million records worldwide. One Direction made their movie debut in 2013 with their 3D concert movie, "One Direction: This Is Us."
