Several Chicago families are starting the new year without a roof over their heads after a fire broke out in their North Side apartment building.Residents say the fire started just after 12 a.m. Wednesday in the building at Sheridan and Howard.
The city of Chicago provided a bus to help the displaced families stay warm.
There were no reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
