The school was placed on lockdown while police responded. The shooting occurred in the electrical engineering building. The lockdown was lifted around 11:45 a.m. ET/ 12:45 p.m. CT.
"Police have cleared the building and continue to search the area. People should remain sheltered in place until further notice," according to a Purdue tweet.
