Chicago Spire project could be revived; Developer would allow to restart work on Lake Shore Drive tower

The developer behind the Chicago Spire wants to revive the stalled project.

Friday's Chicago Tribune reports the Irish firm has found an investor to pay its creditors.

That would allow it to emerge from bankruptcy and possibly restart work on the 2,000-foot tall tower at 400 North Lake Shore Drive.

An artist's rendering of the spire was created in 2007, a year before the project went into foreclosure and was abandoned.
