An Oak Forest man was killed and three other people were hurt in a head-on crash involving a Pace bus Wednesday morning in southwest suburban Romeoville.

Romeoville police say an eastbound Kia Rio crossed into a westbound lane of oncoming traffic on Renwick Road at Rankin Wednesday about 9:10 a.m. and was struck head-on by a Pace bus. The Kia then struck a Ford Fusion.

Authorities said the driver of the Kia was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Joliet and later pronounced dead.

Several streets in the area of Renwick Road and Rankin Drive were blocked as crews cleared the scene.

The driver of the Kia, 67-year-old Ahmad A. Bader of Oak Forest, had to be extricated and was pronounced dead at 12:09 p.m., according to the Will County Coroner's office. An autopsy Thursday found Bader died of multiple injuries from the crash.

The Ford driver, the driver of the Pace bus and a passenger from the Pace bus were also hospitalized at Saint Joseph's in good condition then released.

Romeoville police are investigating the cause of the crash.
