February 13, 2014 (NEW YORK)

Authorities say the 36-year-old woman was struck in front of a store on Eighth Avenue near 63rd Street just before 10:45 a.m. She was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition and cardiac arrest. She died at the hospital.

Her baby boy was delivered through emergency Caesarian section. He is in critical condition at the hospital but expected to survive. The woman was eight months pregnant.

The operator of Bobcat, who was apparently plowing a supermarket parking lot at the time, was being interviewed by detectives. No charges have been filed. He appears to be employed by the supermarket.

The victim is a Brooklyn woman, identified as Min Lin, who was carrying groceries after shopping with her husband at the time of the accident.

The hospital released the following statement:
"A baby boy, nearly full-term, was delivered by emergency C-section. He weighed in at 6 lbs, 6 oz and is in critical condition in our NICU."
