George Lucas is considering building a museum in Chicago after plans for a $300 million Lucas Cultural Art Museum stalled in San Francisco, according to the city.

The billionaire filmmaker said the museum would house part of his movie memorabilia and art collection.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is going to create a task force to look at potential sites for a George Lucas museum in Chicago, according to the mayor's office.

Lucas recently married longtime girlfriend and investment banker Mellody Hobson, who is a Chicago native. They have a home in downtown Chicago, and recently donated $25 million each to University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and After School Matters program.
