Second wave of the flu hits U.S., Northeast in particular

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say there are still widespread reports of the virus, mainly in the Northeast.

The second wave is hitting some states especially hard, like Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York.

Flu season usually begins in December, peaks in January and wanes around March. The CDC says anyone who received a vaccination during this flu season should be protected.
