CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are investigating another expressway shooting in the Chicago area. Bullets hit a car on the outbound Eisenhower Expressway near Kostner Avenue, authorities said.

Luckily, no one was hurt.

Illinois State Police received a report of shots fired just after 10:05 p.m. Thursday. Officers shut down the outbound lanes for several hours to investigate.

They found several bullet holes in the silver Chevrolet Monte Carlo and shell casings on the road. All lanes reopened by around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

State police said the suspect may have been driving a white SUV. While the motive is unclear, investigators said it was not a case of road rage.
