Rochelle man walks 7 months after crash left him paralyzed

CHICAGO (WLS) -- One man's long journey of defying the odds is making us Chicago Proud.

Just seven months ago, Cole Thomas was told he'd never walk again. On Friday, he walked out of a Chicago rehab center.

Thomas, of Rochelle, Ill., was paralyzed in a car accident last September. Less than a week later, he entered the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab.

He graduated from the lab with the support of family, doctors, nurses and fellow patients.
