CHICAGO (WLS) -- The new U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans were released earlier this year. Just in time for Heart Health Month, which is celebrated in February.
About half of all American adults have one or more preventable, diet-related chronic diseases; including heart disease, diabetes and obesity. The goal of the new guidelines is to reduce the risk of those diseases across all stages of life.
Deciding to lead to healthy lifestyle may seem overwhelming to start. Registered dietitian, Pat Baird, visited ABC 7 to explain how to make the new guidelines work for you.
