Chicago DNC 2024 security fences coming down, streets reopening as officials celebrate success

The youth vote will be crucial, if Kamala Harris hopes to come out victorious this fall. So, the Democratic Party is pulling out all the stops to court that demographic, including influencers.

Two hundred content creators were invited to the Democratic National Convention for the first time in its history. It comes as Vice President Harris is pushing for more young voters.

Hundreds of content creators were invited to the Chicago 2024 DNC, or Democratic National Convention, as Kamala Harris pushes for young voters.

According to the Center for Information and Research on Civic Engagement and Learning, 70% of young people had gotten information about the 2020 election on social media.

A DNC spokesperson said, "Our convention will make history, so we're giving creators a front row seat to history."

The Secret Service said they are investigating multiple bomb threats around the city, including at the Omni Chicago Hotel, on the second day of the DNC.

A spokesperson for the agency said they were made aware of a number of bomb threats, but said the are not credible.

These T-shirts have been placed on the chairs of the Illinois delegation inside the United Center. "DPI" stands for "Democratic Party of Illinois."

The United Center will be lit tonight on the second day of the DNC... by thousands of light-up bracelets placed at every seat in the arena.

The same devices were used at Kamala Harris' first big campaign event.
