EVANSTON (WLS) -- A piece of Northwestern University history is getting a multi-million dollar makeover.
The school officially introduced a $110 million plan to renovate Welsh-Ryan Arena.
The plan includes new seating, concession areas and restrooms.
It's the first renovation of the more than 60-year-old arena since the 1980's.
Construction will begin next March and is expected to wrap up by fall 2018.
The basketball, volleyball and wrestling teams will play in alternate venues during construction.
