CHICAGO (WLS) -- A shooting in a Southwest Side restaurant left one person dead and an employee seriously injured Monday night, Chicago police said.

Chicago police said a 30-year-old man was trying to enter a Little Village restaurant in the 4100-block of West 26th Street about 11:35 p.m., when two male suspects shot at him, hitting him multiple times in the head, police said.

Surveillance video from a nearby business shows the shooting unfold.

A white SUV pulls up on 26th Street. As its blinkers are on, two men run out of the car, with guns drawn, and start shooting.

The suspects left the scene. CPD did not immediately provide any additional information about them or a possible motive.

Chicago fire crews treated the man on the scene, but he was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital, CPD said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office later identified him as 30-year-old Christian E. Rodriguez.

The gunshots went through the restaurant's glass front door, also hitting a 27-year-old woman working there, CPD said.

The woman was also treated by CFD, and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she is listed in serious condition.

ABC7 spoke with a relative of the woman at the still-shuttered restaurant on Tuesday morning. She did not want to be identified.

"She's out of danger, thank goodness. She should be released from the hospital today," the victim's cousin said, in Spanish. "You don't wish ill upon anybody, but I was relieved, because everyone working here is family."

There was a heavy police presence in front of Delicias Mexicanas Restaurant after the shooting. The restaurant appears to be a late-night option in the area.

Its employees did not want to be interviewed after the incident. They were working to reopen Tuesday.

As police continue to search for those responsible, officers canvassed the neighborhood Tuesday, speaking with business owners and dropping off leaflets. Investigators asked anyone with any information that can lead to the killers to reach out.

Ald. Michael Rodriguez, who represents the 22nd Ward, told ABC7 he has been speaking to police, the chamber of commerce and the city's victim advocate outreach teams to make sure the victims' families are being taken care of.

"At 7:30 a.m., I was briefed by 10th District Commander Will Betancourt on the matter. By 8 a.m., I had spoken to the department of business affairs to see if there is any support to the business. Talked to the outreach teams and victim advocates that are working working with the various families who have been victimized here," Rodriguez said.

Police have not said if they know what the circumstances surrounding the shooting may be.

No one is in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.
