Tires and wheels stolen off cars on Chicago's South, Southwest sides

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are warning residents that someone has been stealing tires and wheels off cars in at least four neighborhoods, including Brighton Park, McKinley Park, Armour Square and New City.

In each case, at least one person takes the tires and wheels off of vehicles parked on the street and leaves the vehicles on blocks.

Seven incidents were reported in the last two weeks:

2700-block of West 37th Place on Aug. 22

1800-block of West 34th Place on Aug. 25

3100-block of South Princeton Avenue on Aug. 25

5000-block of South Halsted Street on Aug. 25

2900-block of South Canal Street on Aug. 28

2800-block of South Wells Street on Aug. 28

2300-block of West 49th Street on Aug. 30
