SKOKIE, Ill. (WLS) -- CTA Yellow Line service was restored overnight after a minor derailment near the Dempster-Skokie station.

Officials said no passengers were on the southbound train when it went off the rails around 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Two CTA employees who were on the train asked to be treated for minor injuries.

Crews hurried to repair the train and get it moving again, but service wasn't restore until around 12:50 a.m. Friday, inconveniencing some north suburban passengers.

"They said the train was suspended, so we took a bus to Skokie because there was no train," said Benjamin Yousif, a CTA rider.

Investigators are looking into what caused the train to jump the tracks.
