Happy people seem to have healthier hearts

New British research shows that people who reported more upbeat moods had lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol. At elevated levels, cortisol can lead to high blood pressure, abdominal fat, and lower immune function.

If this study shows that happier people are healthier people, the more difficult questions is, How do you become happier? Doctors say people need to recognize what makes truly them feel good and satisfied and spend more time doing those things.

The study is published in the American Journal of Epidemiology
