Stranded passengers hope to fly out today

Thousands of passengers are standing by at Midway Airport today. They are hoping flights get back on schedule after being grounded by a thick blanket of fog. Because of Midway's shorter runways, the fog forced airport officials to cancel all arrivals and departures Monday -- more than 475 flights in all.

Southwest operates the most flights at Midway. The airline hopes to get everyone on their way this morning.

The fog also canceled hundreds of flights at O'Hare. Others were delayed by an hour or more.
