Ten people were injured Monday morning when a fight broke out at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center.

Several ambulances were called to the center, 1100 S. Hamilton, just before 10 a.m.

According to a counselor, about 70 young men were watching a black history program when several of them started to fight. The teens didn't have weapons but they threw chairs and used their fists. Those injured are in good to serious condition.

The juvenile detention center provides temporary housing for young people who are waiting for their cases to be decided.
