Good furniture deals may disappear

Industry analysts say the slowdown of the housing market amid economic worries have softened the demand for new furniture and home furnishing items.

Many retailers are now stuck with excessive inventory.

Some retailers are pulling out all the stops from slashing prices to offering creative financing to clear their warehouses.

But analysts warn the deals may not last long as overseas suppliers are threatening to hike up wholesale prices by the end of the year.
