Salmonella linked to tomatoes in Cook County

More cases of salmonella linked to tomatoes are reported on Wednesday in suburban cook county.The Cook County Department of Public Health claims seven cases have been linked to the nationwide outbreak. More than 30 people in Illinois have become ill.

The outbreak is linked to the consumption of raw red plum, red roma and round red tomatoes. There are nearly 200 confirmed cases nationwide.

Federal investigators say they are close to determining the source of the bad tomatoes.
