PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. --The parents of a Palos Heights teenager who claimed she was abducted and raped last month have given police information that has closed the case. Back on September 16, the girl told police she was kidnapped from the sandwich shop where she worked by a man. The teen sent a text message to a friend before the alleged attack saying she feared for her safety.
She showed up at home several hours later. The incident sparked a manhunt in the southwest suburbs.
The girl's family issued an apology to police and the community through their attorney.
