A groundbreaking new study suggests pregnancy rates are much higher among teens who watch a lot of TV with sexual content. Two-thousand participants were asked how often they watched popular TV shows, including Sex and the City, That 70s Show and Friends.

Participants, age 12 to 17, were first interviewed in 2001, then again twice in 2004.

The study showed pregnancies were twice as common among teens who watched such shows regularly compared to those who hardly ever saw them.

The study appears in the November issue of Pediatrics.
