A Grand Jury is investigating the case of a teenager who was critically injured after he jumped from a moving car. According to a police report, 70 to 100 teenagers were taking part in a scavenger hunt in Kane County on Friday night when Erik Nava jumped from a moving car on a dare.

Nava, 17, of South Elgin, was critically injured. He was taken to Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva after the incident. He remains in critical condition as of Tuesday morning.

Few witnesses have come forward in the case. A Grand Jury can force people to testify so prosecutors could determine whether any crimes were committed.
