Chicago parking fees could rise

If you park downtown, you could be paying more if Chicago Mayor Richard Daley gets his way.The mayor is proposing a "congestion reduction" fee. It's for drivers who park downtown on the street or in commercial lots and garages during peak work hours.

The fee would also affect truckers who make downtown deliveries at peak periods.

The proposed ordinance is supposed to ease traffic jams and generate transportation funding.

There's no set rate yet for congestion fees.
