CHICAGO --The mother of two children killed in a deadly house fire when she allegedly left them home alone was scheduled to appear in court Monday morning. Investigators say Erika Ramirez left her children home alone while she went to watch a pool game with her boyfriend. Her hearing was postponed until January 16.
Her house at 72nd and Troy in the Marquette Park neighborhood caught fire last week, killing her 6- and 9-year-old daughters. Two other children survived.
Ramirez is being held on one million dollars bond.
