Rape suspect faces new assault charge

March 26, 2009 (CHICAGO) Police say DNA evidence links him to a third attack.

John Hopkins is also accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill alleged two victims so they would not testify against him.

The sexual assaults occurred last October on Chicago's South Side.

Police say a DNA analysis found that Hopkins is also connected to an attack on South Artesian that happened in that same month.

Surveillance pictures at the scene of one of the attacks helped lead police to Hopkins.
