July 1, 2009 --An apparent engine problem is believed to be the reason a flight from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale had to make an emergency landing in Daytona Beach Tuesday. A burning smell in the cabin forced the pilot to make the emergency landing.
Passengers had to use their oxygen masks to get fresh air. Three of them suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to the hospital.
Once the plane landed and the engines were shut down, the smell went away.
