First female to chair Illinois Tollway

August 13, 2009 (CHICAGO) Regional planning expert Paula Wolff is the first woman to chair the authority.

Former Waukegan Mayor Bill Morris and current Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner also joined the board. All say the environment will be a key concern in their new positions.

"The tollway should not be a source of degradation of the environment, there are things going on all over the country, all over the world, trying to figure out how to make transportation green and it's something we need to spend our time looking at and figuring out how to do it effectively, for the people of Illinois," said Paula Wolff, Illinois Tollway chair.

Wolff replaces tollway chairman John Mitola who resigned for personal reasons.

Morris and Weisner replace two board members whose terms expired.
