Cook Co. board gets new commissioner

Cook County's newest commissioner, elected on Monday, plans to help override President Todd Stroger's veto of a sales tax rollback.Democratic committeemen elected Illinois state trooper Edwin Reyes to the county board. He replaces Roberto Maldonado who left his post to become a Chicago alderman.

Reyes now serves on Governor Pat Quinn's security detail. The county board vote on the tax rollback is set for Tuesday.
