September 23, 2009 (CHICAGO) --The head of Chicago's Department of Health is calling it quits. Dr. Terry Mason resigned from that post to take the top spot with the Cook County health system. As chief medical officer, mason will oversee doctors at Stroger, Provident and Oak Forest hospitals. He will also be in charge of 16 clinics and the hospital at the Cook County Jail.
Mason starts his new position on December 3.
