Former funeral home owner free on bond

September 23, 2009 Darryl Lee Cammack of Chicago was arrested Monday almost three weeks after he was charged with theft and failure to properly dispose of human remains.

In June, investigators found seven cremation boxes with remains in the garage of the abandoned Serenity Gardens funeral home.

Investigators say Cammack took money from a family for a cremation but it was not completed.

Authorities are working to identify the bodies found in the abandoned funeral home.
