Aldermen want hospital turned into casino

Two aldermen are suggesting that the proposed site for the Olympic Village be converted into a casino and entertainment complex.Aldermen Richard Mell and George Cardenas are floating the idea of converting the 37-acre Michael Reese hospital campus into a complex that would compliment McCormick Place.

Their proposal is one of the first of what's expected to be many suggestions. The city bought the shuttered hospital for $91 million.
