THE QUICKEST, EASIEST BREAD PUDDING EVER

Recipe from Leo Honeycutt, Louisiana's Shade Tree Chef.Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 50 to 60 minutes
Serves: 8

Ingredients:

  • 1 - 17 oz box of Bruce's Southern Style Bread Pudding mix
  • 1/3 loaf of French or Italian bread
  • 1/4 Cup Melted Butter
  • 1 3/4 Cups Milk
  • 1 egg

    Method:

    Tear bread into 1-inch pieces and place into large mixing bowl.

    Pour bread pudding mix over bread and add milk, melted butter and the egg.

    Mix with spoon, folding mixture from the bottom and lifting up. Pour mixture into greased 8"x2" deep casserole dish and bake for up to an hour at 350 degrees F until brown on top.

    Serve warm.

    For added taste, add raisins or pecans and top with rum sauce or vanilla ice cream.
