Drew Peterson's lawyer files motion to close hearing

January 4, 2010 (CHICAGO) On Monday Peterson's attorney filed a motion to close an upcoming hearing.

Peterson is charged with killing his third wife Kathleen Savio.

The state's new hearsay law may allow the judge to admit certain statements that Savio made before she died.

Peterson's attorney Joel Brodsky doesn't want those statements to get out until the judge rules on which ones are permissible for the case. Otherwise, he believes Peterson won't get a fair trial.

Brodsky expects the judge will rule on the motion Friday.
