Chicago university fights to get statue back

January 22, 2010 (CHICAGO) The school says the sculpture went missing last fall and was found in the office of a state representative.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, that lawmaker is Monique Davis.

Davis reportedly told the newspaper that she didn't have any explanation for how it wound up in her office. The newspaper reports that campus police have tried to recover the statue, but Davis has not cooperated.

ABC7 was unable to reach Monique Davis for comment.

The university said its taking appropriate steps to recover the statue.
