A link between multi-vitamins and breast cancer has some doctors telling older women to stop taking daily multi-vitamins unless they are absolutely necessary.

A Swedish study has determined there may be a connection between the vitamins and breast cancer.

The study followed women between the ages of 49 and 83 over 10 years. Researchers found women who took daily vitamins were nearly 20 percent more likely to determine breast cancer.

However, the authors of the study caution the subject needs more research.

The results are published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
