The bank, based on Chicago's South Side, was on the verge of failure, but was saved when many other banks and lenders stepped forward with money to save it. In a letter to the White House, Biggert and other Republican congressmen want to know if Shore Bank was saved because it has strong ties to the Obama Administration.
The White House and the bank have denied any role in the money-raising campaign that has saved the Shore Bank.
