Chicago-area construction sites still at standstill

July 13, 2010 (CHICAGO) The latest round of negotiations Monday night failed.

Union laborers and operating engineers want to meet every day this week to end the strike. The group representing employers says they'll meet again next Monday.

The strike affects about 8,500 workers and has shut down hundreds of construction projects across the city and suburbs. Health insurance and wages are the top issues.
