Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman speaks in Chicago

August 25, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the Executives Club of Chicago that vets are incredibly special people.

"These young people who've done exactly what the American people have asked them to do, many of them have sacrificed, and their families have sacrificed, enormously. And they have an enormous amount of potential, and an enormous amount to offer," said Adm. Mike Mullen, Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman.

Admiral Mullen said if employers will hire more former military men and women, that will help reduce another problem that greatly distresses him -- veterans who are homeless.
