Dubbed early on by Tim Gunn (Project Runway's www.mylifetime.com mentor and father figure) as the "queen of country club chic," Peach has unveiled her statement-making line of tennis separates that will take women from the courts to cocktails with just a quick change of shoes. Peach's line (that will appeal to tennis players of all ages) is sure to be hit with travelers this holiday season as her use of spandex and jersey make her tennis clothes easy to pack and wrinkle free upon arrival.
"We're thrilled to be the first retailer to offer Peach Carr's line," says Ellen Stirling, owner of The Lake Forest Shop. "It's an amazing opportunity to be able to support such a great talent like Peach's. Women will love her clothes -- and love Peach even more!"
Peach made her first garment in fourth grade while in the 4-H club -- an A-line shift dress. The self-taught designer won many blue ribbons at the county fair and continued sewing ever since. Currently a freelance designer, Peach's 16-year-old daughter Molly sealed her fate by printing out the application and forced her to apply and audition for a spot on the show. Her design aesthetic is influenced by her childhood and the fashions and music from the '60s.
Peach will be launching her website and rolling out her spring line under her peach car inc. label in early 2011.
Peach's line will be available at The Lake Forest Shop through the holidays. The Lake Forest Shop is open Monday-Friday, 9:30-5:30 pm, Saturdays until 5 pm, and by appointment.
