Experts: No repeat of H1N1 pandemic this year

January 13, 2011

Experts say this winter will not be a repeat of last year's H1N1 swine flu pandemic. But, it's still not too late to get a flu shot.

It's advice that health officials especially want seniors to take since the prevalent strain this time around tends to hit their age group the hardest.

The CDC says since it is flu season we should expect activity to pick up in certain areas through January and February.

They say now is the time to get vaccinated because it becomes effective in two or three weeks.
