A mix of rain and ice started to fall at the Lake Forest Oasis shortly before 8 a.m. Later Sunday morning, the precipitation in that area was all rain.
Drivers were warned that the pavement on nearby Interstate 94 was slick.
City officials told ABC7 that approximately 174 of their salt plows and trucks were ready Sunday and pre-positioned in several important areas, near Lake Shore Drive for example, in the event that more snow and ice settles on the ground in the city.
