Keller pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
He had also been medical director of a Waukegan methadone clinic that was shut down in 2009.
The clinic came under scrutiny following the methadone-related death of a 30-year old patient in 2008.
Investigators determined that the clinic failed to follow state and federal regulations.
