Chicagoan Sarah Miller Caldicott, the great grandniece of renowned American inventor Thomas Edison, is one of the driving forces behind the awards.

On April 5, 2011, in New York City, Steering Committee Chairperson, Sarah Miller Caldicott, will honor the most notable innovations and innovators over the past year. Nominees include Chicago-based companies Wm. J. Wrigley Co., which is nominated for their Extra Dessert Delights in the Consumer Packaged Goods - Food segment, and Motorola for its Motorola ES400 Enterprise Digital Assistant in the Employee Learning Systems segment.
