The latest incident happened Sunday when two children were shot while playing in a front yard near 51st Street and Calumet.

On Sunday afternoon, a 22-year-old man was killed as he sat in a car on the city's South Side.

According to Chicago police, the victim was stopped at a traffic signal behind a car near 74th and Vincennes.

People in the car in front of him opened fire.

The victim tried to drive away but crashed into another car.

No one is in custody.

Another shooting occurred at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 400-block of West 79th Street.

Police say Young had no known gang affiliations.
